The management of the institute is the responsibility of the executive committee of the Calicut Press Club, Kozhikode. The executive committee has constituted a Governing Committee to be in charge of the institute. The ICJ is headed by the Director, who is responsible for the general administration, training programmes, tuition schedule, examination and all other activities of the institute.

The institute has an advisory board consisting of eminent media persons to advise and guide its activities.

There is also a board of Studies to guide and regulate the academic quality of the diploma course
